SQLSaturday Iowa City is this weekend!

If you’re within driving distance of Iowa City, IA, I’d love to see you at SQLSaturday Iowa City this weekend!  We have a fantastic weekend planned:

  • On Saturday, June 11, we have our free conference, with around 30 sessions on all aspects of SQL Server, plus a Women in Technology discussion over lunch. We’re also featuring a Career Improvement Clinic – stop in and talk with experts about obtaining Microsoft certifications, improving your resume, and contributing to the community through speaking and blogging.
  • On Thursday and Friday, we’re featuring three fantastic pre-conference sessions! David Klee is presenting a new session about optimizing your SQL Server infrastructure, and Ben Miller is presenting two days of PowerShell for the DBA.

I’ll be presenting two sessions at the Saturday conference: one on mining useful performance and error information from SQL Server’s default trace and system_health Extended Events session, and one on SQL Server 2016’s new Always Encrypted feature. I presented both of these at SQLSaturday events elsewhere earlier this spring, and both were very well received. I’m looking forward to presenting them again for my home crowd!

More details on the conference are available on the event website, http://sqlsaturday.com/523. I hope to see you there!
